On the screen- Gidget

Gidget, The Little Girl With Big Ideas........I love Gidget movies. The first version stars Sandra Dee and James Darren. Its about a girl who is different than all the rest shes a bit more tomboy than all her friends. Shortly after she meets a surfer quickly becomes infatuated with him, but he doesn't show any interest. I think the first one is  the keenest but there also is Gidget Goes Hawaiian, Gidget Goes to Rome, and a T.V. series and it keeps going. I have seen the tv series before it still comes out but I like the movies more. I also had a question does anyone think its weird that I prefer teen  trends from the 1940s and 1950s than the ones from the current time??

I love her dress in this scene

  2. No , I dont think Its weird. Infact Im just like you I perfer teen trends from the 40's and 50's . ( And I make it happen by shopping for teen clothes back then ) LOL. I just worship the Gidget movies! I watch them like a billion times ..and it never gets old. I think we should look up to teens from the 40's and 50's than the ones of our time.

  5. I think it's great that you like teen trends from the 40s and 50s. Girls used to be so cute! Now, teens tend just to be slutty or frumpy.

  6. I totally understand that you find the teen trends of the 1940s and 50s more interesting. I think many of todays trends have become too extreme. Its no doubt, I would choose Gidget any time over, e.g., Jersey Shore ;)

  8. Miss Amethyst- I feel like that at school to.There are 4,000 students at the school I go to and sometimes I feel weird because I don't know the music from today or go to the movies and when I do its for there old movie showings. Some people do find it interesting but there are also some that can be rude(ignore people like this though)I'm so happy to know you dress like this to and your comments made me feel so much better!!

  14. I never did see a Gidget movie. Maybe I will look her up on netflix. :) It's not wierd that you prefer things from a time gone by. The world we live in now, is so fabricated and false, at times, than MANY of us are reaching back to another time.
